Rivercliff offers three worship services each Sunday (click here for map and directions):

  • 8:15am – Traditional
  • 9:35am – Contemporary
  • 11:00am – Traditional

Our Traditional worship services are liturgical in nature, meaning that we follow an intentional and carefully planned arrangement for the service.  In our case, this is typically drawn from The Lutheran Service Book.  The music in our Traditional worship services encompasses traditional Lutheran hymns, and is accompanied by an organ and, usually, a choir.

Our Contemporary worship service is similar in structure to the Traditional service, but incorporates more contemporary music and a more relaxed atmosphere.  There is no bulletin or hymnal used; rather, the spoken words and lyrics to the songs are projected on a screen at the front of the sanctuary.

The sacrament of Holy Communion is offered on alternate Sundays (one Sunday it’s offered at the two Traditional services, and on the next Sunday it will be offered at the Contemporary service).  When there is a fifth Sunday in a month, we generally do not have Holy Communion.
